«AVIVAC-ND-BROILER» strain Bor-74 VGNKI

About the product

«AVIVAC-ND-BROILER» is a live dry vaccine against Newcastle disease based on strain Bor-74 VGNKI for use in broiler chickens.

The vaccine has the appearance of a homogenous dry pale yellow or pale brown porous substance that easily dissolves in water without forming flakes or sediment. The vaccine is available in 3, 0 cm3 glass vials containing 2,0 cm3 of the product or in 5,0 cm3 glass vials containing 3,0 cm3 of the product. Each vial is hermetically sealed and contains 100 to 5000 doses.

Biological properties

Immunity in vaccinated chickens develops within 14 days after double vaccination and lasts at least 2 months. One dose of the vaccine contains not less than 6,6 lg EID50/cm3 ND virus strain Bor-74 VGNKI. The vaccine is innocuous and non-reactogenic; it possesses no therapeutic properties.

Indications for use

The vaccine is used for the immunization of broiler chickens against Newcastle disease at poultry farms.

Only clinically healthy birds of all ages are subject to vaccination. Vaccination time is chosen on the basis of haemagglutination inhibition antibody titres measured for 25 blood serum samples collected from birds in each poultry pen following the conventional procedure.

If haemagglutination inhibition antibody titres are lower than 3 log2 (1:8) in at least 20% of the birds, broiler chickens must be vaccinated via drinking water at a rate of 1 dose per bird. Before vaccination, the birds are kept without access to drinking water for 1 h. The birds can only be fed and offered water 2 h post immunization.

Robustness of post-vaccination immunity is assessed on the basis of haemagglutination inhibition antibody titres 14 days after vaccination. HI titres must be not less than 4 log2 (1:16) in at least 80% of the vaccinated chickens.

Storage requirements

The shelf life of the vaccine is 12 months from the date of manufacture if stored and transported in a dark dry place at a temperature between +2 and +10°С.
