«AVIVAC-ILT» strain VNIIBP

About the product

«AVIVAC-ILT» is a live dry vaccine against avian infectious laryngotracheitis based on virus strain VNIIBP.
The vaccine is prepared from extraembryonic fluid, homogenized carcasses and chorioallantoic membranes of SPF chicken embryos infected with attenuated avian infectious laryngotracheitis virus strain VNIIBP.

The vaccine has the appearance of a homogenous yellowish brown or pink porous substance that easily dissolves in water or normal saline without forming flakes or sediment. The vaccine is available in hermetically sealed vials containing 3 to 5 cm3 of the product, corresponding to 500–5000 doses per vial.

Biological properties

One immunizing dose of the vaccine contains 103 EID50/cm3 of attenuated ILT virus. Immunity in vaccinated chickens forms over a period of 2 to 3 weeks after double vaccination and lasts 6 to 12 months.

The vaccine is innocuous and non-reactogenic; it possesses no therapeutic properties.

Indications for use

The vaccine is used for prophylactic immunization of birds at farm units affected by ILT or in the presence of a risk thereof.

Only clinically healthy birds undergo vaccination. Birds should be vaccinated twice. The first round of vaccination is conducted in chickens aged 25 days and above; the second round is performed in 20 to 30 days if the product is administered via the intraocular or enteral route and in 30 days if the product is administered via the cloacal route. Birds aged 60 days and above are vaccinated singly. If the vaccine is administered by aerosol, the birds are revaccinated at intervals of 6 months.

The presence of infectious diseases in the acute form at the farm, especially those affecting the respiratory tract, serves as a contraindication for vaccination against ILT by aerosol.

Storage requirements
The shelf life of the vaccine is 12 months from the date of manufacture, if stored and transported in a dark dry place at a temperature between +2 and +8°С.
